Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- System Monitoring: Monitor software applications and services for any performance issues, outages, or irregularities.
- Issue Detection: Use monitoring tools to identify issues such as service downtimes, slow response times, or performance degradation.
- First-Level Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve basic technical issues related to software applications, databases, and services.
- Incident Reporting: Log incidents and service requests accurately in the ticketing system, categorizing issues by severity and impact.
- Escalation: Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2/3 support or relevant teams in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation of the problem.
- Service Health Checks: Perform routine health checks on systems and services to ensure stability and reliability.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with internal teams and clients, updating them on system status, incidents, and resolutions.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, issues encountered, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, network engineers, and other technical staff to ensure the software systems are running efficiently.
- Alerts and Notifications: Set up and manage automated alerts for system outages, thresholds, and other critical conditions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of software systems, networking, and databases.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios) is an advantage.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic software, hardware, and network issues.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to report incidents and update stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify small anomalies and errors in system operations.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve Level 1 issues.
- Teamwork: Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams to resolve issues.
