Trainee System Administrator
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee System Administrator. This is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience and training in system administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems including Windows Operating System and other application software.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users.
Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, cctv, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, VPN and network segments
Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance tasks including backups.
Interact with other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support as needed.
Assist in the implementation of security measures to protect company data and infrastructure.
Document processes and procedures for future reference.
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications:
Undergraduates, Diploma in Computer Studies, Information Technology, or Certification (A+, CCNA, Microsoft) with prior experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows (Client and Server Versions), Linux would be added advantage).
Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
Prior experience in IT support or system administration is a plus but not mandatory.
