THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
- An understanding of the laws of nature – in the climate, hydrological or oceanographic sciences or in the fields underpinning them
- Strong mathematical, statistical and scientific programming skills
- An aptitude for research, motivation to work independently and willingness to learn new subjects
- Ability to write up results in reports / scientific papers / books in English
- The ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team environment to realize the overall project goals
- Research experience and knowing other languages shall be added advantages
OPTIONAL :
- Record of publication in Journals in the Science Citation Index
- Long-term goals for scientific, environmental and technological research

The Federation for Environment, Climate, and Technology (FECT) is dedicated to developing usable social scientific, and technological data for societal well-being and environmental preservation. FECT brings together 20 scientists whose activities cover some of the Indian Ocean Islands and its littoral. We began researching and developing of climate and environmental analysis, computation, monitoring, and prediction technologies in Sri Lanka.
