Ortus Laboratories (Seychelles) Pty Ltd has an opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst with a passion for water science to join our scientific team. This great opportunity is needing someone who is focused on innovation and continuous improvement. Some on-the-job training will be provided.
Qualification and skills required:
BS (Hons 1-2) or MS Degree in a relevent scientific discipline (environmental science, chemistry or related sciences). Master’s degree is prefered. Degrees in clinical sciences or experiences in clinical laboratories are not desirable unless candidate can also show recent experience in a food, water or environment testing laboratory.
Ability to follow detailed processes and work to deadlines in a sometimes highly pressured environment
A good eye for detail (accuracy and precision) and a thorough and methodical approach to your work
Reliable, responsible and punctual
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Be able to communicate proficiently in written and verbal English
Working knowledge of IT systems such as MS Office, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
Your main duties will include (but not limited to):
Maintaining a high standard of safety and housekeeping in the laboratory
Sample collection
Perform analysis according to defined analytical methods and standard operating procedures
Write new, or review SOPs and risk-assessments
Performing routine maintenance on instruments
Equipment calibrations
Inventory and laboratory stockkeeping
Recording keeping and reporting
Working hours: This is a permanent, full-time and long-term position. Successful candidate is expected to show flexible availability (weekends and PH) as per when required
Location: Sucessful candidate is expected to move to Seychelles to fulfil the position
Salary: Will be discussed based on qualification and experience
