Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Virtual Legal Assistant with experience in supporting UK-based legal firms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of UK legal practices, terminology, and compliance standards. This remote role involves providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys and ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating virtual meetings for solicitors and legal teams.
    Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence, ensuring compliance with UK legal standards.
    Conduct thorough legal research, including reviewing UK case law, statutory provisions, and precedents to assist with case preparation.
    File and manage legal documents with UK courts and regulatory bodies, adhering to deadlines and jurisdictional requirements.
    Maintain and organize digital case files using legal practice management systems (e.g., LEAP, Clio, or similar).
    Communicate professionally with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals on behalf of the firm.
    Track and manage deadlines for court filings, hearings, and compliance-related tasks.
    Handle confidential and sensitive client information with integrity and discretion.
    Assist with billing, invoicing, and preparing time-tracking reports for legal services.
    Stay updated on changes in UK laws, regulations, and legal practices.
    Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a similar role within a UK-based law firm.
    Knowledge of UK legal terminology, procedures, and compliance standards.
    Familiarity with UK court systems, regulatory bodies, and document filing processes.
    Proficiency in legal software and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and legal management platforms.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
    Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a remote environment.
    Understanding of GDPR regulations and data protection best practices.
    Paralegal certification or legal studies background focused on UK law is preferred.
    Experience with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack).
