The Job

We are looking for a Sales Development Representative based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to join our team. As an SDR, you will be responsible for identifying potential customers, generating new business opportunities, and managing leads through the sales pipeline. You will work closely with the sales team to ensure that our company’s sales goals are met. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a proven track record of success in sales. Responsibilities

  • Utilise CRM (Hubspot), cold calls, and email to generate new sales opportunities;
  • Identify and qualify the needs of prospects, and suggest appropriate products or services;
  • Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities;
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market;
  • Track progress towards meeting and exceeding sales goals;
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and sales executives;
  • Provide weekly updates to Sales Manager

Requirements 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in sales, preferably in SaaS or financial services, with a track record of exceeding lead targets;
  • Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka;
  • Strong communication skills in English, via phone and email;
  • Comfortable speaking to Traders, Portfolio Managers, Chief Investment Officers, Heads of Data Strategy / Sourcing;
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software – Hubspot, Linkedin;
  • Familiarity of the buy-side workflow and structure, and/or a strong interest in the financial services industry and financial markets;
  • Process oriented but agile as product and strategy evolves;
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • A desire to learn and grow in the sales field;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
