Overview
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive maintenance for all facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
Respond to emergency repair needs and troubleshoot issues related to building systems.
Ensure all systems are operating within acceptable parameters and report issues to management as necessary.
Energy Management:
Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
Optimize heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve energy efficiency.
Recommend and oversee upgrades to enhance energy performance.
Building Systems:
Oversee the functioning and maintenance of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
Perform regular inspections of building infrastructure and ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
Ensure that the building’s fire alarms, security, and safety systems are in place and fully operational.
Facility Design and Upgrades:
Assist in the design and implementation of facility upgrades or improvements.
Recommend and assist in the installation of new systems or equipment to improve facility performance.
Vendor Management:
Work with external contractors and service providers to ensure facility systems and infrastructure are properly maintained and repaired.
Review contracts and ensure that vendors comply with service level agreements (SLAs).
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure the facility meets all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain and document compliance records for safety systems, equipment maintenance, and inspections.
Budget Management:
Help manage the facility’s maintenance budget and recommend cost-saving measures.
Forecast facility maintenance and repair costs and track expenditures to stay within budget.
Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, equipment performance, and inspections.
Prepare reports for management on facility performance, energy usage, and safety compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
