Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Assistant
Receiving Goods: Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
Storage & Organization: Arrange inventory in designated locations, maintain cleanliness, and follow 6S standards.
Inventory Management: Conduct stock counts, cycle checks, and reconcile physical stock with system records.
Order Picking & Packing: Pick items using barcode/RF scanners, pack securely, and prepare shipping documents.
Dispatch & Loading: Stage and load outbound shipments, coordinate with carriers, and ensure timely delivery.
Returns Handling: Process returned goods, inspect items, and update inventory systems.
Equipment Use: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
Safety Compliance: Follow SOPs for hazardous materials, maintain safe working practices, and inspect equipment regularly.
