Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain freight rates from shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and overseas agents.
- Maintain an updated database of ocean, air, and inland freight charges,
- Prepare accurate and competitive pricing proposals based on client requirements.
- Respond to RFQ’s Request for Quotation) and tenders in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with internal departments (sales, operations) for cost inputs.
- Communicate with overseas partners and agents for pricing on cross-trade shipments.
- Liaise with carriers and suppliers for rate negotiations and contracts.
- Analyze costs involved in shipments to ensure profitability.
- Recommend pricing strategies based on market trends and company targets,
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and industry developments,
- Provide insights and reports to management for pricing decisions.
- Maintain accurate pricing records, rate sheets, and quotation logs.
- Ensure all pricing documentation is properly stored and accessible.
Qualification & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications in logistics or international trade (e.g., FIATA, CILT) are a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics pricing, or sales support is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with vendors, agents, and internal
teams. - Ability to write professional emails and proposals.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Good negotiation and analytical thinking to assess pricing strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple pricing requests simultaneously.
- Work under pressure with tight turnaround times for client quotes.
