Senior Manager Finance & Tax (Estates, Non‑dairy, International Trading & Group Consolidation)
Reporting to: Group Financial Controller / Group CFO
Location: Colombo Head Office; travel to estates and business units as required.
Purpose: Lead finance, tax, treasury and centralized group reporting for estates, Dairy, non‑dairy product lines and international trading; own segment financial control, budgeting, forecasting, consolidated accounting and commercial partnering to support growth, margin and working capital objectives across the Group, including the international trading organization.
Key responsibilities
Centralized group reporting & consolidation: own group consolidated financial statements, segmental consolidation and centralized reporting processes (IFRS/local GAAP); ensure timely, accurate integration of head office, plant, 3PM and estate accounts into the group consolidation and month‑end close.
Tax leadership: own Sri Lankan tax strategy and compliance (corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, customs duties); provide technical guidance on transfer pricing, tax provisioning and tax risk mitigation.
International tax support: advise on cross‑border tax implications for exports/imports, trading structures and new markets; knowledge of MENA, South Asia and SE Asia tax regimes is a strong advantage.
Segment financial control: manage accounting and month‑end reporting for estates, non‑dairy and international trading; implement and enforce standardized COA and reporting templates for consistent consolidation.
Budgeting & forecasting: lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts for assigned segments and contribute to centralized group budgeting; translate the 5‑year growth plan into annual financial targets and consolidated group plans.
Treasury & working capital: own treasury responsibilities for assigned segments and coordinate group treasury activities — cashflow planning, bank relationships, LC/trade finance, FX exposure management and funding for international trading.
Business partnering: provide commercial finance support on pricing, product and customer profitability, margin analysis, and go‑to‑market financials for trading and domestic product lines.
Estates finance: oversee estate accounting (5 estates, ~500 acres), yield and cost per acre/kg tracking, input controls and crop profitability analysis.
Governance & compliance: ensure tax, VAT, customs and statutory compliance for estates, trading and non‑dairy; coordinate external audits and ensure timely closure of audit/tax findings.
Systems & process improvement: drive standardisation and automation across consolidation, tax provisioning, budgeting and treasury workflows; promote ERP/finance system utilisation for centralized reporting.
Capex & projects: evaluate and monitor capex and investment cases for estates, product lines and trading infrastructure; support financial due diligence for new markets/partners.
KPIs
Timely group consolidation and month‑end close within group timelines.
Timely and accurate tax filings with zero regulatory penalties; tax exposures identified and mitigated.
Treasury metrics: cashflow forecasts vs actual, on‑time LC processing, minimal trade finance discrepancies, FX loss within approved limits.
Budgets and rolling forecasts delivered on schedule; segment and consolidated revenue/EBITDA vs plan.
DSO/DPO/DIO managed to agreed targets for segments including trading.
100% adoption of standardized COA and reporting templates across sites to support consolidation.
Qualifications & experience
CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent; CA with strong tax exposure, or MBA with a professional accounting qualification preferred.
Minimum 5–8+ years post‑qualification finance experience including consolidation, tax, treasury and commercial finance in FMCG/agribusiness/trading.
Deep working knowledge of Sri Lankan taxation, VAT, customs and statutory reporting; practical experience managing tax audits and tax provisioning.
Experience with international trade tax/tariff issues; familiarity with tax regimes in MENA, South Asia and SE Asia is advantageous.
Strong consolidation and reporting experience, ERP implementation/usage (SAP/MD/other) and advanced financial modelling skills.
