Overview
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Finance is responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with tax and statutory regulations, preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting and financial planning, and assisting the CFO with strategic financial initiatives. The role requires strong analytical, accounting, and leadership skills, preferably with experience in the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare final accounts and financial statements accurately and on time.
Handle tax planning, tax computation, and ensure compliance with Income Tax, VAT, PAYE/APIT, Withholding Tax, and other statutory taxes.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage statutory audit requirements.
Ensure compliance with Inland Revenue regulations and other financial reporting requirements.
Oversee payroll administration and employee salary processing.
Monitor cash flow and manage treasury functions.
Prepare annual budgets and conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain effective financial controls.
Manage accounts receivable (debtors) and accounts payable (creditors).
Supervise inventory accounting and product costing activities.
Handle import documentation and related financial transactions.
Support the CFO in financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
CA Sri Lanka Part Qualified (Chartered qualification preferred).
Previous experience in an audit firm is highly desirable.
Experience in the manufacturing sector is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan taxation laws and statutory compliance.
Hands-on experience in statutory and external audits.
Experience with Odoo ERP is an added advantage.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficiency in English, Sinhala, and Tamil.
